Continua la love story tra bio e italiani: una passione che è a tutela della biodiversità, della salute e del lavoro
Despite the economic crisis, Italian organic market has boomed over the past twenty years: + 250% in value. In 2014, 1.4 mln hectares of Italian land were cultivated organically. Organic farming had a greater effect on biodiversity: on average, organic farming increased species richness by about 30%. It’s more profitable for a farm to convert conventional crops to organic ones. It is the system of organic farming itself that demands more labour and creates more jobs. Farms currently in organic production, although they include proportionally more extensive grassland farms, provide almost 20% more jobs per hectare than non-organic farms.
